ABOUT YOUR GUIDE:
I have spent my entire life in the Maine Outdoors, most of it as a professional outdoorsman and Registered Master Maine Guide. From the early 60's I operated a boys wilderness trip camp for 12 years, specializing in white water canoeing and mountaineering. From there I went on to guiding groups and families on wilderness river trips, backpacking trips and camping trips. You won't find a more
experienced guide in the Maine Outdoors.
Recently, I have authored the
Old Maine Guide's Hip Pocket
Cookbook,
a whimsical collection of
recipes, folklore, and tips for
sea kayakers, canoers, and
flatlanders. Check it out

A guide
is on duty 24 hours a day when leading a trip, available
for you and your family at every moment, they have
wilderness knowledge to share with you and your family,
ways that should not be forgotten, but passed on.
After over 40 years of guiding, I have been described as being "SOMEWHAT RELIABLE" by my long lasting friends and clients. I heard it has something to do with not being able to go through a whole trip without it raining a day or two, or maybe it's because I can't make the fish bite every time we go out on the water, or maybe it's because I set up camp in the Maine woods where there are mosquitoes and black flies once in awhile. OK, I admit I could be a little bit more reliable when it comes to these things, but if you are willing to hire me with all my faults, I guarantee to keep you dry and warm if it does rain, will take your fish off the hook when they do bite, and will keep those pesky woods critters at bay as best I can. For an added bonus for hiring me, I will cook you fabulous meals and do the pots and pans besides, also seeing to it that you have a safe trip, so I can't see why you wouldn't hire me!
I look forward to sharing my world with you this summer. Please give me a call and book your trip early before all those other clients that say bad things about me sign up for another trip.
